Dr. John Symms is an otolaryngologist with a special interest and training in the management of hearing loss and acute and chronic diseases affecting the ears. He also has experience and expertise in the full breadth of otolaryngology including management of sinonasal, endocrine and salivary gland diseases, as well as voice and sleep disorders. He is committed to delivering the latest evidence-based care with compassion and meticulous attention to the specific needs of each patient.
Dr. Symms was born and raised in Caldwell, Idaho. He earned his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona before going on to complete a clinical fellowship in Otology/Neurotology with Pittsburgh Ear Associates and the Pittsburgh Ear Research Foundation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) and the Triological Society. He has been practicing in Boise with Southwest Idaho ENT since 2022.
